A QUESTION OF REFLECTION

Why I see this way, question not
for no reply shall come
instead, I'll sit and simply thrum
what fog this night has brought
like you past times I've often sought
(rapt heavily in rum)
theories many in thoughts benumb
and temper so distraught
instead, I set my mind adrift
within the starry sky
I worry not 
my mood is high
your silence is a gift
nothing remains now to uplift
yet still you wonder why

AUTUMN

​

The sun declined into the horizon
yellow, titian, and even gold
for the season was old

The pumpkins strewn about town indicate
the grandiose festivities that are about to ensue

meanwhile, outside the window
the wind plays a haunting melody

Maia,

My body has grown weary

from a hard day of sours

please bring me your flowers

then we’ll sleep for six hours

I dwell inside the mists

of a tragic wretchedness

where my consciousness subsists

on thoughts of my own death!

What waits for me

on the other side

when I breathe

my last breath?

The night sky

Turned darker

As the sun had faded with the land

The people hid in their

box-houses

the redfish swam

about unnoticed

by it

The shadowed echoes resound

the dark echoes resound

The night sky

turned even darker

as the shooting stars

appeared and then disappeared

as the sheep-head swam

about unnoticed
